WatchWiley wrote:Lol. I love you guys. Of course we borrowed from the great brands. We love CLERC. We sell CLERC. But just like FORD borrowed from Aston Martin for inspiration, so we borrow from the greats for "the look" on some watches. CLERC doesn't sue us because we sell a butt-load of their watches. We are trying to make the luxury-look affordable.
And earlier I wasn't saying some other company was building our Swiss watches. I'm saying that like other watch companies (even some high end brands) we use contracted watch-makers to build our best pieces in Switzerland.
And for the record, senior Vice President Nisso Barokas is our chief designer of our 8 or 9 brands we own. So surely you will see his DNA across the line of watches. We want each line to be destict, but he and his team are responsible for what you see.

Should it be "we" or "they"?

Claude Meylan? 'Fess up.

Clerc may not have sued you, but Audemars Piguet did....

I was under the impression that the luxe brands you sell are primarily grey market. Are you in fact an authorized distributor for Clerc - and for what other brands? By "authorized distributor" I mean one with an ongoing direct relationship with the mfr.

As to "making the luxury look affordable", doesn't that mean simply helping yourselves to designs that other brands have spent millions on to develop and market? How do you feel about that? Hint: "everybody does it" is not an acceptable answer.

A TV host is aTV host is a TV Host.
This whole thread is eerily reminiscent of something that took place in another forum many moons ago when another "host" was welcomed for being honest and straightforward.
If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck.......
I'm jaded.
Good luck and good selling.

I don't know that I'd want Nisso Barokas' DNA on my watches.

I'm such a pain in the ass.

I've taken it upon myself to do a bit of investigating based on something in the New York media today that concerns WOW. I'll post when I get the facts. It's kinda interesting and it ties in, in a way, with this discussion. And, if what I find out is what I think happened, to me at least, it's kinda surprising. Stay tuned.

EDIT: Cripes. It's gonna take me a couple of days to finish this. But I will when I get the info. No earth shattering news, but a little surprising.

Bremont
Marathon
Seagull
Zeno
Stowa
Tudor
Alpina
Frederique constant
Junghans

I would like to see Armand Nicolet? Patek Philippe Grand Seiko Citizen Campanola
To nane a few.

We occasionally have Zeno. We do have Frederique Constant and Alpina (if it did not sell out today). The others are excellent choices I will pass on to the buyers on Friday.

Have not heard back from him since last year, now in limbo as a member. Do not watch his shows nor purchase from WOW although my daughter has purchased from them in the past.

And to think - he can't post here lest he give away answers to such "hard questions" as which watches WOW sells they warranty and which ones qualify for manufacturer ones.

Honestly, buy at WOW at your own risk. If stuff like that makes their rep run screaming out the door like a catnip-crazed Persian, then gimme Joma and Ashford.

I know resurrecting old things can be frowned upon, but did the WoW rep. ever come back?

The WoW website and the Ashford website look awfully similar. Dejá vu all over again.
Mr. Lowe is a minister in Florida. He came out as a couple of years ago which is fine but perhaps not for companies who sell watches via informercial
