Absolutely bizarre. That we don't know what the heck they are has got to be concerning.

Mother ship to the drones over New Jersey? Personally I think the drones are Amazon testing its new delivery system.
NRPI and Shitheel here.

Apparently some of them appear to exhibit stealth characteristics. Others have been observed over homes, with masses estimated in the order of "300 pounds". But yeah, you'd think some of them would be suitable targets.

Indeed. These over oregon are moving at speeds unknown to current technology.
But don't worry the white house says. Nothing to see here. Nothing to worry about.

To be fair, Ol' Sleepy probably can't see them.

Re: UFOs over Oregon? 12/7/2024
Surprised that it ddnt show on radar. Even more surprised that the Life Flight Pilatus saw it on TCAS. To see it on TCAS means it (the UAP, not UFO) apparently has a mode S transponder. If so, the mode S transponder, (specifically assigned to each aircraft by serial number) should tell us exactly what it is. If the thing got close enough to the Pilatus, TCAS would have generated a resolution advisory, which would suggest evasive action to the aircraft to avoid collision. Seattle center seemed pretty chatty that evening, indicating light traffic (workload) in that sector. Curious.

Great post - thanks Mark. It's quite technical content - are you saying it had to be a commercial plane?Mark1 wrote: ↑December 17th 2024, 12:19amSurprised that it ddnt show on radar. Re: UFOs over Oregon? 12/7/2024
Remember when the Stealth bombers were being developed and UFA/UAP sightings spiked?
In 1986 an experimental unit crashed outside of Bakersfield, ostensibly coming from or returning to Edwards AFB… and you would have thought a moving truck had dumped a bunch of Area 51 filing cabinets.
People were sure the government was covering up something nefarious. Especially after the Air Force declared the crash site and the airspace above it “a national security area” out of bounds to the press and public.
Yeah.
That - you alarmist fucks.

Re: UFOs over Oregon? 12/7/2024
Not commercial. Military aircraft also have mode S transponders. Of course, depending on your location or mission you might want to turn off your transponder. Not appearing on radar indicates either stealth properties or very small radar cross-section due to size or design. Virtually all aircraft and even boats and ships have transponders. These give away your identity, location, etc. Even fishing boats turn off their transponders from time to time to prevent competitors from finding a good fishing spot. In unfriendly skies you only care if your mode 4 (friend or foe) transponder is functioning. If you want to see what aircraft are operating in your area try flightaware.com Boat traffic can be tracked at marinetraffic.comjason_recliner wrote: ↑December 17th 2024, 4:54pmGreat post - thanks Mark. Re: UFOs over Oregon? 12/7/2024
The FAA has had remote ID requirements for drones for years. In all the brouhaha nobody has mentioned this or if all the drone sightings have their remote ID gear in operation or not.
This is just an incredible farce. The feds going Sgt Schulz, we know nothing. But then saying nothing to worry about.

Right. I want to see a Saturday Night Live skit with suburban sized drown moving at the speed of sound with aliens fighting with some pentagon official saying nothing to see here folks. Those are stars and recreational drones.

Here's an idea--close down Jersey to low-level aircraft for a couple of days. Let everybody know about it. Then, when the drones start flying, you
SHOOT THEM THE FUCK DOWN.
Then, you pick up the debris, check serial numbers, and dump all the deadbeats in Marion Supermax for twenty fucking years.
Problem solved. I think I should get a cabinet position for this fine plan.

It's a good and obvious plan. The fact this hasn't happened tells you the Gov already knows who it is.
Meritocracy: the privilege, wealth and advancement of those who chose their parents wisely.
Capitalism: a cult that promised to do good for the worst reasons.
Nationalism: a profound longing to go back to a past that never existed.

Of course, all this is probably just bullshit. It wouldn't be the first time that a bunch of goofs got their panties in a bunch over nothing.

Some of them are flying at considerable altitude - I think there's a 400ft limit for UAS - and some are apparently difficult to shoot down.conjurer wrote: ↑December 17th 2024, 11:21pmHere's an idea--close down Jersey to low-level aircraft for a couple of days. A couple of Apache gunships with their 20mm miniguns should be able to handle the fuckers. And if they take out a few strip clubs and used Pontiac dealers as collateral, no great loss. I mean, it's fucking Jersey, for fuck's sakes. Like the Irish harps say, you gotta die of something.jason_recliner wrote: ↑December 18th 2024, 4:09pmSome of them are flying at considerable altitude - I think there's a 400ft limit for UAS - and some are apparently difficult to shoot down.conjurer wrote: ↑December 17th 2024, 11:21pmHere's an idea--close down Jersey to low-level aircraft for a couple of days. With a top speed of 164 knots, it may not be able to track, chase, and shoot down stealthy drones. But maybe it can, I really don't know.conjurer wrote: ↑December 18th 2024, 4:29pmA couple of Apache gunships with their 20mm miniguns should be able to handle the fuckers. The ones over eugene that darted out over the ocean and back were travelling MUCH faster than that. And were not stars.jason_recliner wrote: ↑December 18th 2024, 4:49pmWith a top speed of 164 knots, it may not be able to track, chase, and shoot down stealthy drones.
