Maserati Murdered, Jag In Rotation

Post by smellody » June 29th 2024, 5:46pm

Well the neighbor lady, who obviously hates Italian cars, murderer my Maserati last week.

Each of the three damaged panels were $6k each from Ferrari.

With labor, the repair cost was prohibitve and the Italian stallion monster was totalled.

I used the proceeds to "downsize" from the 4.7 litre naturally aspirated Ferrari engine to a 2.0 litre turbo diesel Jaguar engine. Four wheel drive and 35 mpg will be good for my commute.

Enter my new to me Jag (or as Jeremy Clarkson says "Jaaagggggggg"). Jaguar F-Pace 20d.

Many of you may know I'm a bit of a Jag man. My first car was a '62 MK2 3.8 4sp/od red on black with wire wheels. I also had a '69 XKE. Still in my carport is my '97 XK8 coupé that I'm working on a LS1 conversion.

The Jag will be delivered Monday or Tuesday after some warranty exhaust and turbo gaskets are installed.

Happy motoring.

Sad to see any nice car destroyed by the unwashed, a Maser no less. Jag looks interesting, keep us informed.

If I am to be insulted I must first value your opinion.

Sorry to hear about that. What many won't remember is that you bought the Maserati from Alain's family after his passing. Sad to see her demise.

Yep. That part is the saddest. I was taking good care of her and was forking out 8 large for new rear tires.

I was even prepping for winter (since the rear tires in that 427hp heavy rear wheel drive car last about 10k miles.

Three days later, these fine ass 295/35/19 winter tires showed up.

Hit me up if that fits any of your cars out there.

That stinks - loved that big Maserati. I hope the Jag is more reliable than their reputation!
Jags are the bees 🐝 knees. They never break down.
They also have the best warranty coverage in North America!! @!<$
Sweet. If only it were so Down Under. There's a XJR nearby at a good price except it has a misfire. Too scary for this bogan!

Man. That's the wrong spirit. You would have a Jaagggggg. So what if you are running on seven or even of the six cylinders. You are still driving a Jaaagggggggg.

You'd need a cricket 🏏 bat to ward of the punk that will be knocking down your door asking for a ride. I assume any of them would be more than happy to pay any repair bills for the Jaaagggggggg.

Come on man. Live it up.

You got an SUV from the Swallow Sidecar Company!?

Be careful! When British F1 champion Mike Hawthorn stepped out of Ferrari-power and into his Jaguar 3.4 saloon (…retroactively the Mark I) it didn’t end well.

Though, it’s conceivable he balled it up because he over-drove it attempting to pass a Mercedes.

And you have a bunch of Mercedes…

So, now that I think about it… you’ll be fine.

ENJOY that fancy JjjjjaaaaaAAARG!! 👏

Thanks guys. Grief is over.
So the dealership was installing a new exhaust manifold gasket and new turbo gaskets. . . . While torquing down the exhaust manifold, they cracked it. I'll take delivery on the 20th when I return from Hawaii.

First world problems. . . They are going to change the oil too (also Nuvolari).
