Air and Sea
We talked to some of the crew of this boat, a 2.5L class hydro returning to the pit via crane.

Here it is in action later.

Here's the vintage class, with the Miss Bardahl overtaking the Notre Dame and the Miss Wahoo. The vintage class is really more of an exhibition as no one wants to wreck a 60 year or older boat.

Two boats in the Grand Prix class.

The Graham Trucking Unlimited Hydro with more air underneath than the driver likes. It doesn't take much more to turn this boat into a really poorly flying airplane.

The Beacon Electric and Beacon Plumbing unlimiteds pass the Home Street Bank. The Beacon Plumbing went on to win the Columbia Cup.

The Goodman Realty boat, trying to remain a boat.

This is Codguys favorite. The Griggs Hardware is the only unlimited still running a V12 Rolls Royce/Merlin type engine like they used to. The other unlimiteds all run turbine engines designed for helicopters.

In between hydroplane heat races, they have a small airshow. The headliner is the F35B Lightning.

The F35 did something I'd never seen before in an airshow. Since its the Thunder over the River airshow, he pickled a few flares. Flares are used in the real world to try and fool a heat seeking missile.

Of course the Valhalla was there demonstrating how far fighter aircraft have advanced in 80 years.
