Borla Active Performance Sound Is Coming to Make Your EV Sound Exhaustively Less Electric

Post by 32771 » November 9th 2022, 12:05pm

Interesting....

Silence may be golden, but for performance enthusiasts who are looking at their engineless Ford Mustang Mach-E purchase, that can be a problem. For many, audible feedback while driving is an important part of the high-performance experience, and has been proven to be an issue that stops those EV shoppers coming from ICE-powered performance vehicles. I like the idea of modifying an electric car to accommodate the sound of an internal combustion engine.

It’s a little bit of a hassle, though, because to do it right you have to go through the car and plumb it with a complete exhaust system that can then be connected to an internal combustion engine after the chassis has been modified to accommodate the ICE power plant. Then, you can remove about 6 inches of flooring by removing the batteries and adjust your seats to better accommodate you.

This is an excellent way to enjoy an electric car without the long recharge times or worries over range anxiety.
