Not a Gnu Karr

Post by SynMike » September 16th 2022, 12:01pm

We just bought this 2016 Audi SQ5 Technik. It's the car the mrs has wanted for a few years now.
I'm happy, too. It handles great. It's nice and fast off the line with 350hp: 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds.
Bells and whistles. My favorite: The fog lights automatically light up around the corner when turning.

So now we have a matching pair of Audis. We never targeted white, but our latest 3, all the best deals we found on used cars, have been white.

2 Audis? Future repair bills might make me regret this. Mind you, I can do many repairs myself. The TT needed a new secondary air pump when I bought it. Audi wanted $1200 just for the part. Jobber copy was $120. But I bought a rebuilt for $28 on ebay.

Very nice. I am sure koi will approve!
Yes he does approve. Audis are great. Own an A8L and S6. Over the years have owned early model Audi 100, quattro 4000s and audi 200 tq.

Love Auto Union!

Enjoyed them all - A6, TT, A5, & Q5, the first two are gone, but the last two keep my daughters safe while still offering a platform that is fun to pedal! Plus, I’m a big fan of the direct-injected 3.2 - which has been the mill in all four. Normally aspirated, they’re easy 200,000 milers if they elect to keep them that long. The A5 is white… Audi and Porsche provide a stunningly bright shade of white that makes my (white) Mercedes look more of a light beige and that really pisses me off.

I love the Que - and its enormous panoramic sun/moon roof that is big enough to launch both front seats at the same time. It a great machine to drive - and I can’t imagine the additional 65hp in your car offering you any reason to disagree!

I do get the allure of all the crossovers… and Audi has preserved a very similar dynamic across a range of chassis set-ups. The Q5 feels just like the A6 (same engine, transmission, MMI, Quattro drivetrain) right until you turn-in and the inertia of all that weight reminds you of it’s high center of gravity.

Still, even as a more lanky specimen the Q can dance, it manages its girth quite well, and is easier to get in an out of…

Great pick - enjoy!

:bvbvbv:

Though of the two, am partial to the TT (cuz I'm a two door guy).
I love white vehicles though I'm down to just two 'o them, one is 29 years old and the other is 52.

I'll need to get rid of a few before another vehicle comes into my life.

Rightly so. I've reached a point in my life where I will only purchase two door coupés. Everything else has too many doors.
