Peugeot 604

Post by koimaster » September 30th 2021, 9:49am

Over the years I owned three of these and they were great riding autos. Parts were the major issue in the US. My favorite of the three had a four speed with a turbo charger. Canadian specs but when I purchased it I had the turbo removed and a few minor tweaks made to pass US Customs. Once back in the states we reversed the changes. Still am a big Peugeot fan having owned the above and Carol had two 504 models and a 505TD. My eldest had her own 505 STI version with 4 speed.

I had a 504 diesel with an automatic transmission. I found a rusted out wagon with a factory crate engine with less than 1,000 miles. I found another donor car with a 4 speed and put the new diesel engine, 4 speed, and new clutch in the metallic green silver 504 with sunroof. I then found some nice 505 alloys and mounted them on the 504.

It looked and performed beautifully! I sold it to my Dad who put some 50k miles on it before he sold it and moved out of country.
