Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

Traded off my 2018 Infiniti Q60 Red sport two weeks ago for a 2019 Mercedes Benz SL450 Roadster.

I've never had a convertible, and the folding hardtop is far more preferable to me than a cloth top. The car drives like nothing else I've had before. It just feels so solid and planted to the road, and the ride quality (particularly in the Comfort setting) is just phenomenal. Many years of refined German engineering I suppose. Putting it in the Sport or Sport+ modes really wakes it up, and the 362 hp 3 liter V6 twin turbo and 9 speed automatic are a really strong combination when pushed. The interior is really comfortable and extremely well finished. It has massaging seats (turned off), side bolsters that will push you opposite of the cornering force (turned off), radar based cruise control (cannot be turned off to operate as "conventional" cruise control) and self-steering (turned off), heated and cooled seats, air vents in the headrests, and a variety of high tech safety features including pop-up roll bars should it sense an impending rollover. Just watching the Rube Goldberg designed folding roof is worth the price of admission.

It was a Certified Pre-Owned with just shy of 12k miles.

And still have the 71 240Z, 95 300ZX Twin Turbo, 17 Corvette Grand Sport and my 16 Hyundai Equus.

Thanks cod!
Your list is very impressive and I thought I was the only one here with a car hoarding problem.

Huge Mercedes-Benz fan here. My first car was a 6.9 and I’ve spent a lifetime confirming they make some of the best cars in the world. (Around my house, they are known as the manufacturer who uses Ferrari as a mop to clean up in Formula 1.)

Having sold one recently I am now down to two. Previously broken-in is the only way to fly - depreciation is a magical device for a discriminating value-conscious enthusiast who refuses to pay retail.

Beautiful ride - enjoy!

Those lines! They work well top up, and they work GREAT top down! Clean, slippery, low-profile, and not too avant-garde. This is a car that will accumulate years, but it will never look or feel “old”.

Atsa nice.... And, then once it’s out of warranty, maybe add just a TOUCH more boost... @!<$

Thanks fellas!

It's only a half second or so slower to 60 (4.3 vs. 4.9 published by Mercedes) than the V8 SL550 version. It almost "feels" as fast as my Corvette, even with 500 pounds more car to move. I rarely even put it in SPORT or SPORT+ modes.

The most impressive thing to me is the ride quality. It is unlike any other car I've had, and even my Hyundai Equus with airbag suspension pales in comparison.
