I got one coming in, I thought it might be a decent beater or something to practice mods with. If it’s too huge, which is likely because it is 44mm, I’ll gift it to someone like my brother or nephew or put it up for a charity auction here.

While I kinda like the ice blue color of the dial, I'm sure it would disappear about 10 feet underwater almost as fast as orange does. :-)

And that case looks really fat but there's no reference point for comparison. Awaiting svaglic's words of wisdom.

I know it’s a cheapie, but if it works out it will be a beater, if not then I’ll gift it. I think it is based on the Seiko Turtle, so maybe the parts will work on a Seiko for a mod or the other way around.

From doxa
SUB 300T
This reinterpretation of the 1969 SUB 300T Conquistador comes in a choice of six colors. Equipped with the patented unidirectional bezel with diving table and a case rated to a depth of 1200 meters, it is up to any challenge. All dive markings feature Super-LumiNova® inserts.

Some are commenting on the term tachymeter on the tactical frog which may be a valid point but it offers:

Movement: Japan NH35 automatic, 41 hours of energy storage.
Case material: Surgical grade stainless steelcase
Bezel: 120 click unidirect rotational bezel
Finish:brushed
Watch mirror: sapphire crystal with AR coating.
Water resistance: 200 m / 20 ATM
Luminous: Swiss C3 green
Crown: Screwdown Crown
Case back: Screwback Case
Hands: hacking second hands

I think Allison is right about the seiko type case being the original idea.

Got it. I’m going to try a bezel mod, if that doesn’t work I will use the dial and hands on an old Seiko I have. A guy on Facebook already did a mod with a Seiko bezel, so it looks like this is a good watch to play around with mods.
The bracelet is huge, I can put my hand through it without undoing the clasp. It’s a cheapie bracelet, but it will do. The underneath of the lugs are a little sharp, so a quick Dremel will solve that. It’s not Seiko quality, but I wasn’t expecting it to be. I’m happy, I got something cheap and decent to spin my wheels with on mods.

Nice! I love mods, but what is wrong with that bezel?
The outer is for a chronograph, not a dive watch.

I prefer these although they have now raised the price from the low $200s to almost $400. Similar movements as well.

Those are the best homage, Jas’s Maranez is sharp looking. I figured for this TF price though, I could play with mods and not care if I wrecked it, I would care if I wrecked a Maranez.
I’m not good with mods, they usually turn out horrific, if I destroy this, I won’t care.

Your watch is--totally honestly--terrific looking, svaggie. I always liked the look of the Sub 300 (I even owned one, a Divingstar, before Doxa was a nasty name) and since your's isn't putting any money in Doxa's pocket, all well and good. The tachymeter bezel's my only beef, and it sounds like you're going to take care of that.

They have also made changes to the dial and bezel in the new batch

Hi friend

Tactical frog is new brand. But this factory is experienced in watch production.

They will release new mods soon.

I would suspect the same factory that makes san martin and the other big seller hellimdor or humidor.
