New Timex Guy Here
I recently became infected with the Timex bug when I decided to resurrect a Timex watch I inherited from my grandfather when he passed in 2002 at the age of 102. He purchased this watch sometime in the 1990's and it's been sitting in a box on top of my dresser not running since I received it.
It was a real mess with the crystal all scratched up and the oem expanding style bracelet was even worse. I was relieved to see the old battery hadn't leaked so I popped in a new one and she started ticking again and the indiglo worked as well. I assumed the crystal was acrylic and I had a tube of polywatch from my speedmaster days so I was able to bring the crystal back to like new. I ordered a gray Eulit Perlon strap which I think looks fantastic on this watch!
I have other watches, mainly Seiko, Citizen and Casio but there was just something about this old Timex, besides the sentimental value which caused me to look at other currently available models and I ended up with two more which I'll post later but for now here's the old girl.
