Previously found only in Japan, the Timex x Red Wing collaboration is now available on the US market. The collection features the Waterbury watch in three sizes — 38mm and 40mm date models and a 42mm chronograph — complemented with leather watch straps from Red Wing’s S.B. Foot Tanning Company. It’s also incredibly affordable. For a timepiece styled on historic designs with a premium leather band that will age beautifully, the 38mm/40mm watch is priced at $109 and the 42mm chronograph is $135.

Designer Todd Snyder was instrumental in bringing this collection to the American Market, after seeing the watch at Timex’s Tokyo design studios. “I was mad at myself that I hadn’t thought of it,” Snyder told Maxim. Though Synder’s own collaboration with Timex will be available in the fall (he’s reviving the Bullseye model), he chose to outfit many of his models with the Red Wing collaboration during his recent F/W 2016 show at New York Fashion Week: Men’s.

This watch adds a rugged American element into any wardrobe and, at this price point, is an easy-to-indulge purchase.

I like it, both the Timex and the Red Wing leather band. Red Wing makes some fine shoes. I sported casual and work boots, they outlasted other brands. Will be on the hunt for this watch.

Not a fan of Red Wing boots but I like the watches/leather combo. And what a steal, can you say The Admiral understudy?

I like them their different then ordinary Timex's.

I once wore nothing but Red Wing boots when I wore boots (I used to wear cowboy boots or shiny leather shoes as "part of the act") - till Red Wing, like everybody else, starting farming jobs out to China. It pissed me off and I never went back. I was all gung-ho "Made In the USA" for awhile. We used to have the Swingline stapler company here in Queens, and when the closed the factory in 1999 and moved the jobs to Mexico (lots of them, including some really good people i know), I vowed to buy nothing but made in U.S. products.

Lasted about six months. It it virtually impossible to find made-in-US clothing. Or anything else. I gave up.

Sorry if this might be a thread hijack, I don't mean it to be. I must admit, that combination is sharp. Yet, I read a line like "This watch adds a rugged American element into any wardrobe," and it makes me want to hurl.

Red Wing still has many USA made offerngs. I love all 4 pair of mine! And my Timexes too!

Maybe Timex will make a line of straps. It would sure be nice because commercially made full grain leather straps are getting really hard to come by, and the custom strap places are twice the price of thsee watches.

The main reason I originally was drawn to Red Wing shoes, was that my grandfather used to work for Red Wing in the 1890s to 1900. May sound silly to some, but means something to me. Sorry for going Cecil on this thread.

Waterbury line is pretty attractive.
