Mercer watch company

OUR NAMESAKE
We take our name from Hugh Mercer, a doctor and Brigadier General in the Continental Army. Originally born in Scotland, he eventually relocated to the US and became a key member of George Washington's inner circle. His death at the Battle of Princeton just a few miles from our HQ became a rallying point of the Revolution. His name also adorns the county we are located in.

OUR MISSION
Mercer Watch Co. is a small designer and producer of time pieces located in historic central New Jersey, USA. Simply put, we exist to share our love of horology with you. In that vein, we strive to design and produce custom mechanical time pieces of the utmost quality for an affordable price. We have teamed up with some of the best names in the industry and sourced parts from all over the world to make that happen.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
A quality time piece shouldn’t cost the equivalent of a monthly paycheck. Some big name watch companies produce watches in the same factories that we do, yet charge much more. These companies price their watches according to perceived value, i.e. its all in the perception of the buyer. If a watch costs more, it must be better, right?

OUR PROMISE
We will not sell anything that we wouldn’t proudly wear ourselves. Simple as that.

I own a Mercer Brigadier in navy that I picked up at the W&W Watch Fair here in NYC last fall. The quality is fine enough for the price point. However, earlier versions of the same watch packed a 9015 instead of the stuttering NH35s they use in the model now. As for Mercer, I find it to be a no-BS company with decent products. I like the watch, and I'm interested in their diver as well.

I took a look at Mercer's offerings and they've got some decent watches. I don't know enough to know how they stack up against their competitors but I didn't think they were out in left field.

More research is needed. And Scotch works well as a catalyst.

Unfortunately, Mercer is NOT going to be at this year's Wind-Up Watch Fair in NYC, which surprises me since they're Jersey based.
