Over the last 10 years there has been too many Ltd/Special Edition watches from Seiko for my liking….So now I usually opt for another “Epsom” group brand …. Orient. I feel they are offering better options for style and quality at a fairer price point.
Agree. My latest 18 month biut of WIS mania has ended up with me going one watch. And as I have in other one watch periods, it ends up being a sensible and somewhat reserved dive watch. The timing bezels are of regular practical utility to me.
Seiko was able to fit the bill for me with the SBDC171. SPB313 for the gaikokujin, and it and its black and black gilt brethren are gettimg raves as understated daily wearers, rather different than the gimmicky stuff Seiko is churning out.
Agree on Orient and 1964 diver high on my list but the Seiko offered antiscratch and Orient did not.
Still have a green Orient King Diver 70th on the way from Japan. Will be either vaulted or flipped. If any of you guys are interested, let me know.
