On the way SCVS007

Post by anonymous-3027 » January 28th 2023, 2:01pm

The SARB037 got too spendy for me but fortunately my head had already been turned by this model.

The dial is a classic Japanese watch motif, gold hands and indices on a cream dial that runs to a light salmon

The case is shared with SARB033 and a bunch of similar models so lots of fitted bracelet options, beads of rice could work

Cost a lot more than I anticipated, like double. Found OEM new strap for cheap so that was nice

This dial motif is a strong meme in Japan, like the Kuoe below.

And that may explain why I was so off on my initial cost estimate. Looked around watch forums when I saw it, not much interest historically in the model

I’m usually pretty close on my estimates for something like this/ But way way off on this one, astonishingly so, I can only guess that this model is popular among Japanese collectors because the design touches a mystic chord of memory there that doesn’t exist here.

Here the design doesn’t suggest anything. In Japan, straight classic watch play

Interesting

I appreciate that simple dial design but I would take it a step further and offer a version without the date.

The date window seems such an interruption on the dial. Even worse is when the dial is one color but the date window background behind the number is white.

I can agree with those things. I figure I’ll wear it a bit and flip it and maybe try a Hamilton intra matric in salmon

A vintage Seiko in the idiom

I remember these. So nice. Congratulations - there wouldn't be too many around.
The sister model, SCVSO05, is not uncommon but I don’t specifically remember seeing this one. I may have and it didn’t register but yeah I’m going to guess not too many about. Googling around tends to support that.
