If it thinks, it stinks
Still polished case and bezel sides but I reckon it really works well:
Yeah, I feel like Seiko has been on an upward trajectory again for a year or so.
It's a rotating bezel.
Indeed, which rotates via gears — i don't think it's fluid, it would take a lot of fine sprockets to even com close. I suppose the knuckleheads at Mono are fully capable of not aligning the bezel in an entire series of photos. Perhaps a letter to the editor would clear the matter up. I'll keep y'all posted.
Not trying to be a dick - I don't have to try - but I don't understand the misalignment concern. Isn't it simply a matter of turning the bezel a bit more? Or does it have clicks like a dive bezel?3Flushes wrote: ↑September 26th 2022, 3:02amHave not heard back from Monochrome regarding the misaligned bezel in all of their live pics — The bezel in the pics of the watch at Fratello is also misaligned.

So, either the photographers at both publications failed to align the bezel, or couldn't, before photographing the watch, or seiko issued stock promotional pics with the bezel defect present.
Pure schlock in any instance.
All I know is, if there's a Seiko mentioned around here, you gonna hear about misaligned bezels.jason_recliner wrote: ↑September 26th 2022, 3:41pmNot trying to be a dick - I don't have to try - but I don't understand the misalignment concern. Photographers from two different publications failing to align the bezels seems to me to be highly unlikely, especially given the knock on Seiko's quality because of the all too common issue. Likewise, it seems to me to be highly unlikely that Seiko would provide non working exemplars that exemplify a quality issue for they are excoriated in watch circles.Racer-X wrote: ↑September 26th 2022, 4:29pmjason_recliner wrote: ↑September 26th 2022, 3:41pmNot trying to be a dick - I don't have to try - but I don't understand the misalignment concern. My Alpinist's inner bezel knob turns firmly with no clicks or detents. Unless I'm misunderstanding 3F, the only defect here is the photographers failing to line it up. Perhaps they were given non-working samples.
Interesting.
