You don't have to like them. They are pretty controversial.
I like mine.
Yours looks good.

I had a 1st gen 779. As Cod says, not very shock resistant. Mine died the first time I knocked it. Before that it kept poor time and it has the shittiest bezel of any watch I have owned to date. It remains the only one that couldn't pass the 'jeans test' (dragging the bezel edge across your leg to see if it moves).

I did make a profit when I sold it though.

I like 'em! Fuck I got a lot of sweet gash when I used to wear one!

Yep, no shit - couldn't agree more. Beautiful thick domed crystal, heavy silky smooth bracelet, unparalleled legibility, and beautifully crafted - nigh on perfect - bezel and bezel action. Just an unbeatable package! Fuck, I picked up hot women on three separate occasions LIKE A BOSS after showing them my monster. And my watch!

Yep, they had fucking nice bezels, that's for sure. And the 7S26 inside could sure take a beating. Superb watches.

I kid. The Monster was one of the bestest gateway watches that brought a lot of us into This Thing of Ours. I've owned four or five over the years, and either sold or gave them all away. I might get another, just to piss of Carl!!
They're the only watches I own these days - sold everything else!

Fuck, there's a real buzz around the Monster these days, a lot of excitement, just going by some of the comments on this thread. Probably the most underrated watch on the market.
