Seiko Mini Turtle - The perfect size that's not for USA market

Post by Watch Noob » February 11th 2021, 12:40pm

How are these marketing decisions made at Seiko? The perfect size Turtle (42mm) is JDM. Yes you can get them Ebay or shoppinjapan but I wonder why this was not released for the US market as well? Please don't tell me Slops circus sized watches are influencing Seiko into thinking the US market wouldn't buy these smaller case sizes - We need 45mm minimum Turtle cases for USA.

Any thoughts or actual knowledge of this decision?

Will they eventually become more readily available here?

I'm a fan - don't like the cyclops on the crystal, I'd remove it or most likely just replace the crystal.

I've seen them go for 250 to 350 on watchrecon.com

I wouldn't drop 500+ on one though.

And why Seiko seems to keep some of their best offerings in the JDM market -

Ya, I'd go $300 on it but that's about all. I have another watch on order and that will make 4 since December so I need to slow down a bit before the wife thinks I have another problem

Got one over a year ago, and if I remember right it was on Amazon. I know I didn't go more than 300.
Blue dial/ bezel.... It wears much more comfortably than the full size turtle
Nice
I'd love to see some real world pictures if you have any. A wrist shot would be great as well to see the fit.

Awesome looking turtle Allison, but is that a stock Seiko? It looks like a Mod. When I did a quick google on Zimbe Turtle (which I didn't know existed), those are running around $1400.
The before picture is stock, the only change is the bezel. They have this in green too.

A decent write up of Zimbes.

Yobokies probably has some Zimbe mod stuff, Dagaz probably still does.
I’ve seen mods to look like Zimbes on watchrecon before.
