Seiko Monster PADI Edition

Post by Racer-X » July 23rd 2020, 7:05am

"Launched at Baselworld 2016, the association between PADI and Seiko has resulted in some of the brand’s coolest models. Think Turtle SRPA21 or Samurai SRPB99. Behind these special edition watches, with blue and red accents, often hide well-established models… And the latest in line to become a PADI is the ‘Monster’, one of the most recognizable designs of Seiko. So let’s have a look at the new PADI reference SRPE27K1."

Let's see here. What'd they do? Add: a padi logo, a red geometrically sculpted bezel indicator, with pip, red hands piping, ahh- the spray painted brushed metal almost matching colored bezel, and $897 or what ever amount they increased the amount to own it by.

Other than the 5's and trying to find a Nemo, I'm done with these guys. And I mean it this time, too.

Will the badass Seiko monster dive watch make me cool and get all the girls on the internet forums.

Surprisingly this one is only 30 spond more than the regular blue one with yak-piss lume. I do like this colorwayZ but £460 is steep for a badass Seiko monsterdive watch. It's normally available for a 20% discount, but greedy cretins are buying anything remotely limited-ed by the dozen, and then flogging them off on Instafuck or Facebutt to gurning hipsters for more than RRP. The sponging little shits can get tae fuck, which means I'll never own this one either.

It's not bad. However, it does nothing for me.
It's not bad, but I echo the fellows above.

Going to say it...the Seiko Monster is the single most overrated watch worn by WIS. Second is the SKX007.

There. I said it. And yes I have owned several.

Fight me. 😂

I find tv watches to be like the guys who raise their truck you need a fricken ladder to get in. It’s a attempt to look cool... that’s all.

Not a fan of the Monster either.

The SKX isn't the greatest sports, though for the money it is solid. Use it for its intended purpose and you end up rating it.

^^^Don’t understand why the Citizen NY0040/NY008x series isn’t held more highly. The 0040 is no longer in production for the US market but still being sold new in Italy. WAY higher quality vs the SKX.

Yeah, had several monsters, black and orange, and wound up flipping them. Really like the bracelets though IIRC.

Have had my SKX007 since 2015 and dont see me getting rid of it.

Ive always liked Citizen over Seiko but Ive mellowed lately.

I have 1st gen black and orange monsters - bought both while at BDWF for less than 125-130 each.

Great watches for the $ IMO - plan on keeping both

Have a 009 that I did a bezel swap, bezel insert swap and have on a strapcode super jubilee that is one of my most comfortable to wear watches - plan on keep that also.
