New 5 Sports line-up

Post by MKTheVintageBloke » June 4th 2020, 1:26pm

Just saw this:
https://wornandwound.com/new-watches-in ... st-update/

Finally a 5 Sports that isn't a faux-diver/faux-SKX. A wee bit too high a price for a Seiko 5, but no less, they look decent. The matte black dial and the gilt version certifiably redirect my blood flow right into the sausage.

The old Seiko 5s at the old Seiko 5 prices, I was a fan of.

I can't even fathom what they're doing right now - unless, of course, sales of the tried and true were in the tank, which, given how these things go, might be entirely possible.

Not bad. I just can't get past the push-pull crown. If Seiko had made them screw down, and charged an extra ten bucks, I might have jumped for one.
Well, to these, being the "field" models, I'd forgive the push-pull crown. I can't forgive it to the faux-divers.

I like these better. I'll wait till they go on sale at Macy's.
Yep. Think this is a new 5 I would like to try.

Very wise. Macy's is actually a great place to buy Seiko and Citizen when sales are on.
