Brian May Seiko 5 Special Edition

Seiko Brian May ‘‘Red Special’’ Watch
Seiko 5 Sports celebrates a legendary guitar, Brian May’s ‘‘Red Special’’

Throughout his long and continuing career, rock legend Brian May has relied upon his ‘‘Red Special’’ Guitar to create the sound that helped make Queen one of the world’s most admired and celebrated rock bands. He has also relied on Seiko. For more than 40 years, Brian has worn a Seiko diver’s watch whose enduringly popular design is the inspiration for the latest Seiko 5 Sports collection. Brian bought his Seiko watch while first on tour in Japan in the 1970’s since when his guitar and his watch have travelled the globe together, making great music and keeping great time.

Beat me to posting.

Good looking? Yes.

The asking price...hell no.

I don't have the money for it if I'm gonna go to China--and that's top priority--but if I wasn't going...that'd be a draw for me. I'm a musician and it looks respectfully musical and fun without being tacky, and that's not easy.

Six bills for a Seiko 5er? That must be some really special packaging.
It's special enough. I bet it sells out quite quickly.

That is so shockingly not bad at all. That is so shockingly overpriced.

The watch's style works without being over the top. Brian May. That's out of the blue. Not bad.

I have one of the original models with a red/blue bezel. It was given to me by an acquaintance who works for 3M up in Bears Lake.
This is from my spread sheet.

Model 7548-700F-early Seiko quartz diver. From April of 1985. Serial number 540513. From Deb Berry @ 3M. She gave this to me. All original including the Seiko Z22 band. Pepsi bezel. 5 jewel adjustable Seiko quartz movement. New battery 7/27/2017.
