Renato Tourbillon
I own several renatos purchased fro snbc two years ago. I've had to send some in for warranty repair with no problem. However I feel that Mink is just another con man with refinement. He has had issues with the truth in the past regarding his lmtd. edition watches and glued pins to dials instead of screws as he touts. Like it or not it does seem to be a good price compared to his other watches. IMO he may some day go crawling back to snbc as he did once before. I will not buy any more renatos, it is still a tv brand with a questionable history.

The truth is, these cheapass Chinese made tourbillons are nowhere near as accurate as a good quality Swiss mechanical. I own a Zenith hand wound little gem of a watch that loses about a minute in two weeks.

Don't think anyone here is going to fall for this Renato promo.
Wow. Just wow. Someone dares to post a positive opinion about ANY watch produced by a TV brand and they are automatically a paid planted shill?
Since Koi was the first responder and his reply wasn't slamming Renato, I guess that makes him an unindicted co-conspirator?
Yikes.
The criticism here at WL is more often than not well deserved, but the extremes that some people go to within the discussion paints a picture of a bunch of crackpots wearing tinfoil hats all peering out from behind blacked out windows in hopes of catching glimpses of black helicopters...
Now if you'll excuse me, I guess I have to go petition Mink for a paycheck.

And in the global scheme of things your Zenith losing a minute in two weeks is crap compared to any quartz or even any cellphone. So what's your point? You're creating a strawman argument: Anyone buying a tourbillon for accuracy is an idiot. That's not why one buys one (or more accurately, that's not why I've bought one).
Even Swiss tourbillons costing six figures are not noticeably more accurate than automatics at the same price point. Greater accuracy isn't the point.

Amazing how you re-iterate terms used extensively by MD and geeks...... tin foil hats, dark windows, and black helicopters. All that is needed is an elementary search of your post history to determine that you are a tv brand fanboi.

Y'all need to get out more. Those terms were coined LONG before WG was ever even a thought in someone's depraved mind.
As to be expected, DX, you're as eloquent as ever.

So Gentlemen are you telling me that you guys hate Renato's....I like them as they make great tactical weapons when in a fight..take it off and hit some one in the head and you would do serious damage.....unless of course your afraid to hurt those top quality diamonds they use.
And by the way i do one one TV brand as they are called I scored a Deep Blue Dive Master 500 Swiss eta for under 400.00....Watch is good out having it bead blasted for a change of pace....So not all Tv brands are junk...in fact I believe a review was done by someone here on WL

Wow. You need to get back to the ward before they notice you're gone. Your meds prescription definitely needs to be upped.

No no no, you're not in lock step yet. Every single watch ever released by any TV brand is, by definition, crap. Anyone who has ever bought one is an idiot and a shill, and that includes management here.
Didn't you get the memo? One of the requirements of membership here is to immediately and publicly destroy all Invicta, Renato, Stuhrling, Deep Blue, Android, Nicolet, Vostok, XOSkeleton (well... actually that one I could agree with), and Croton (come to think of it, that one too...) watches that you happen to still own.
And you are not permitted to say anything positive about ANY of the above companies. Ever. Or else you're a poo-poo head and have cooties.
You won't be permitted to hang out with this forum's "cool kids".
Get with the talking points, citizen!
The splendid irony of this is, as much as people here castigate the "hive mind" over at Watchgeeks, the very same thing exists here, but at the opposite end of the spectrum. Anyone who doesn't universally despise every single aspect of every TV brand is excoriated. Sound familiar? It's identical to the way critics of Invicta are treated over at WG.

Deep Blue is quickly becoming a TV brand but isn't one yet. They existed fairly successfully before TV seduced them. The brands like IWG, Renato, Android, Stuhrling,Magico, and Croton that owe their very existance to TV ( and I don't count what some of them were before they became defunct and the name was bought by a marketer) are the real TV brands.
You can throw JL.,Phillip, Swiss Legend into the TV mix too-I don't buy all of that "they are popular in Europe" BS.
Gray market stuff sold on TV are not TV brands just because they are occasionally available on TV watch shows.
Even though I have picked up a TV brand or two does not mean that the brands do not generally suck, but a serious collector must experience all examples from the ridiculous to the sublime!!

Re: Renato Tourbillon
I can see why someone would sell on TV a little it gets your watches out there and lets face it anything can help. I will not buy another Deep Blue as truly I have enough Divers and there are others out there in the same price range that to me are better. My last three watch purchases have been Steinharts...great watches great price and I get great CS. Stan at DB though despite becoming a TV brand still offers great CS

Re: Renato Tourbillon
Better implementation than the Android, Sturhling, and Croton. It looks like every other Renato ever made. Never really warmed up to their design. I don't like the dial, colors, or hands on this one.
I wouldn't mind owning a tourbillon even if Chinese, just likely not this Renato.

I take back the part about the colors. The black is acceptable. Still hate the dial, hour markers, and hands.

Yes it would be at home there. For the record, I own several Renato watches and have never had an issue with them and I still wear them every so often. Are they asian made, You betcha they are. Do I care? No because I knew what they were before hand.
Do I hate chinese watches? No I do not. I hate replica companies and US companies taking US jobs offshore. I hate the chinese govt for the way they allow patent and copyright laws be flouted.
Do I hate Invicta, nope, just the lies the leadership tells and the morons who keep buying into the lies day in and day out. I have nothing but contempt for bunnies who get lied to and then when the leader posts a "clairification" which is absolute bullshit, the bunnies thank them for fucking them in the head and wallet.
Deep Blue is IMO, in danger of becoming another TV brand if they continue to sell the over sized watches which are passed off as dive watches. Or they could smarten up a bit and go the Chase route and say goodbye to shop.
I have nothing against android, they are a fashion watch and you buy if for that. We seem to have fallen into a trap where only non-tv watches are considered good watches even though there is a bunch of crap out there in the non tv world.
Just my nickels worth.
Post Script:
Someone who buys a chinese made tourbillon in the case of tv brands is, I agree buying into the ready made market place. On the other hand, purchasing a tourbillon from millionmark or another chines company should not be viewed as beneath us. Isn't collecting about buying what you like and in this case the OP knows what it is they are buying. Many buy a watch for the ETA movement or the dial work or whatever. IMHO, no difference here.

In all seriousness, I agree with you Koi. Also, I don't think everything that comes from China is crap. The name on the product is more important than Made in China.

Yeah, sorry, I guess the LMAO emoticon was a little misplaced. Wasn't implying you weren't. I was spewing geekdoms to allude to your statements about the geeks being lied to, then given a BS excuse and then thanking their overlords for their honesty and integrity.

Its kinda like sexting your wife or signifigant other. You can get all hot and heavy in your words, but once you or she mis-spell something in in your lust filled texts, it really ruins the moment.
