Baume & Mercier

Post by SynMike » December 28th 2009, 9:59pm

I've posted this one on lots of forums so you've probably all seen it. But I love this watch and love showing it off. Anyone else have a Baume & Mercier to show?

I want to get a nice looking dress watch like this someday. Nice dial and love the Unitas. Great photos!

I love that watch Mike. I saw one at a jewelers in Washington Square, tried it on and just about pulled the trigger. Bought a M/L I saw a 1/2 hour earlier at another store in the same mall. The watch is on my short list though. Classic design and understated.

I've sold many dozens of watches from my collection since I started collecting in 2008. This is one of the few that I miss.
It's a beautiful design and hand wind is my favorite movement type.

But I found I almost never wore it.
I work in music technology. Business dress has become jeans and t-shirts.
I'm dressed up if I wear a golf shirt with a collar.
I sold it some years ago to help fund an incoming Omega.

Beautiful watch. As much as I have enjoyed playing with straps and gaining appreciation for the aesthetics, in my line of work I just rarely wear them. I worry about getting the straps wet with dozens of handwashes daily.

But some watches belong on straps. This is one of those.
