Check this statement in the response by the owner of Benarus.

"We are not discouraged by people who know nothing about manufacturing in China. We could not produce this watch better anywhere in the world, the infrastructure and supply chain is no longer there. Many Swiss made and German made brands use our factory."

I beleive by "our factory" he means a factory he contracts with to build his watches. It appears he is being pretty stand up about the whole affair. He is claiming he (and Helson) bought the bronze from a third party and took it to "their" factory in China to have it made into cases.

D

It would appear Benarus and Helson got screwed. At this point, it looks like Benarus is working hard to rectify it. I no longer buy their watches but think they ought to be commended for their response. Taking care of the customer still means more to me than where the case was sourced. We all know there has never been any impropriety with Swiss Made watches. Sleep tight with your 110% swiss pieces tucked safely under your pillow.

So Benarus owns Fullswing Manufacturing now? or is my mental rolodex outdated
http://www.fullswing.com.hk/

I remember reading that many other companies use them for case production as well like Helson, Armida and Deep Blue.

Maybe this will bring the bizarre bronze watch fad to an early end???

I agree that they are doing good by their customers. Having been in business for several decades, I know things like this happen from time to time. Nobody is immune from it. Business is like war, you never know what's going to happen. The art is in how you respond.
Watch collecting is a disastrous trap and I'm stuck. At least I always know what time it is.

Not yet but ... it is a matter of time before Invicta gets a hold of some fake bronze and start making some masterpieces, in their customary shitty way.

Its a shame because I kinda liked the idea of the bronze cases. I heard one company got brass instead of bronze but I don't know if its true or not. The metal supplier must of been a relative of the folks who sold Eyal the Diamonds that weren't diamonds? ... LOL

And everyone didn't believe Invicta's claims that how their Chinese watches were better than any European-made watches out there... now we know it's true.

Jesus Christ, I hope so.

+1, to each his own but really have a hard time understanding or appreciating using this metal for a watch case
