Some feel that they have to cut the cord completely or do as much damage as possible before they are able to move to another Site.. There's a reason why burning bridges is such a well known phenomena........ :D
I agree Larry it is rather sad that it comes down to that. Forums have become so PC these days that dissent, earnest opposing views and in many cases, facts become the basis for getting banned, or for moving on. There are some great forums on the web such as TZ-Uk as an example. You can disagree with one another with great vigor but then it is over, they are still buddies and they move on to the next topic.
It as if an open mind has become passé'. Take Rolex for example. A brand many love to bash by those who have never owned one. I have my Dads' sub but never wear it. It has never appealed to me not because it is a Rolex but because I do not like the style of most models. I feel the same about Omega although certain Deville models attract me. As a watch, from the stand point of history, it is worth looking at, and perhaps for many, to own. Most Rolex owners I am aware of will of course stand up for their brand and point out the history, process of building it and in some cases, point out that it is a non-profit company which donates to charity on a huge scale.
Compare that to many Invicta owners or Renato owners. Both are TV brands regardless of how you spin it. A dubious revised history for one along with questions about quality and origin, the other, well never mind. Yet these lower priced watches have defenders that attack those who are not of the same mindset with a fervor seldom seen in the higher priced watches.
I think this is driven by those fellows who burn the bridges after using previous forums for their own ends. Whether it is Y3, Geeks or others, civility and class seems to have fallen by the wayside.
I suppose I am guilty of it when it comes to Jim skelton and his leadership group. But I have very good reason for it. But skelton and his ilk seem to have a following for whatever reason and they come and go through out the web. Some have tried to join here but I have stopped most of them since aside from shots at media and skelton, this is a forum for watch lovers and people with shared interests. At this site at least no PC, no sponsors now or ever and if someone wants to play games here, well, the members themselves will deal with it.
