WL Fall Charity Auction--Important Change Please Read OP!

Post by conjurer » January 11th 2019, 5:17pm

And we're back! After a short hiatus for the Silly Season, here we are with the fifth of the WL Fall (or more precisely, winter) Charity auctions. The proceeds of this auction will be sent to the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance organization: http://www.cgmahq.org/ This organization provides assistance to US Coast Guard members who have been hit hard by the government shutdown. Please see posting here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=44530. This auction will also be extended to end on Thursday, January 24. Here are the rules: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43368

Let's go!

Boldr Quartz Chronograph

I'm not too informed on this brand, but the donor informs me he got it on Massdrop. It's got some sort of Japanese mechaquartz movement inside, and the pushers feel just like a mechanical chronograph. 43mm across, 14mm thick, 48mm lug to lug. It's a nice looking watch, with the panda style dial (complete with useless 24 hr hand!!). Comes on a very nice leather strap that shows very little wear, and also with an extra leather NATO strap that's really nice, too--or at least as nice as a NATO can be. No box or papers; watch is in near mint condition.

Big Ass Seiko Solar Diver

If you're looking for a big Seiko solar dive watch in gunmetal, this one's for you, homeboy. 45mm across, 12.5mm thick, 51mm lug to lug, this one's big and heavy and ready for a deep dive, cocksuckers. 200m WR, nice 120 click bezel (that lines up!!), this watch has the famous Seiko tsunami wave caseback, but is blessedly devoid of the Prospex X on the dial. The watch is near mint, and shows very faint signs of wear. No box, papers or extra links, but there's plenty of room for somebody with a wrist up to a 7.5 incher.

Seiko 5er On Ghey-Ass NATO

This is one of the new 5ers with some balls and a handwind/hacking movement. 44mm across, 12.3mm thick, 50.5mm lug to lug. This is a nice looking field watch, in very fine condition. Comes with box and papers. Mounted on a ghey-ass NATO strap. Other than the strap, this is a really great looking Seiko!

Right. This auction will run until Thursday, January 24, ending at 8:00PM Pacific time precisely. I will mail out the watches to the winners the following Thursday, shipping via USPS Priority mail.

So, bid early, bid often, and remember, the proceeds of this auction will brave young members of the US Coast Guard!

Please read OP and this posting: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=44530 for important changes to this auction!

Also, as these changes have been made after some bids have been made, any member who made a bid can opt out of this auction; please PM me, and I will take care of it.

25 for the boldr.

Right now in the US we're going through a political screwup where portions of the government are not being funded, resulting in about 800,000 government workers not getting paychecks. The US Coast Guard, which is part of the Homeland Security department, is not getting paid, but is expected to keep working. Naturally, this is causing great hardship on US Coast Guardsmen, particularly younger members, many of whom live from paycheck to paycheck. Proceeds of this particular auction will go to help them out.

Bids thus far:

Seiko Solar: $35, tiktok

Seiko 5er: $10, ocean

Boldr: $25, gerdson.

Thanks. I am aware of the shutdown. That plus Brexit has been 80% of the headlines in the past 3 weeks. Of course mostly because NFL playoffs are not so important for most and soccer is in hiatus right now.
