STICKY WARTCH STRAP
Thought I would wear my Seiko Solar Divers 200m grey watch today.
It has/came with a grey Seiko watch strap when I bought it used.
Much to my surprise, when I picked it up from the window sill -- it was sticky.
Googled why/how to fix it and came up with some wild ideas. WD-40 was one of them.
The least offensive was Dawn dish soap. Tried that first. Slightly hot water, generous amount of Dawn and a soft toothbrush. Scrubbed the bejeakers out of the strap and let it dry.
Seemed to do the job.
I keep all the 'solar' watches on a southwest facing widow all the time where they stay well charged and several have rubber/sillycone straps. Only had this issue one time before on a watch I very seldom wear.
Interesting tho is where the 'keeper' was -- underneath it was not sticky. So I assume that the sunlight has something to do with it. I don't think I wore this since last spring as it was still on 'spring ahead' time.
Any thoughts on this? Not a big deal cause it came off pretty easy with Dawn, but weird.
