What happened to forum brand favorites?

What happened to the likes of George Fox and NFW, all the vintage spaceviews, monsters, vintage bullheads and many micro brands ?

I think we pretty much grew out of them.

Also, since most of the young people do Instagram or whateverthefuck, none of the forums have that much weight anymore.

Manufacturing capability had advanced to the point that anyone with a little effort can make a decent watch and you end up with a while bunch of brands essentially making the same watch, watering down perceived value and interest.

Trends come and go. Some were well executed and others were rather blah.

I'm sure the trend will return one day. Until then and after the standards will reign.

Do you mean where are the watches now? I was wondering this about Monsters. I'd love one, Seiko must have made a million or so, so they should be everywhere and should be dirt cheap. But I rarely see one and when they're offered for sale the price is stupid.

Saw this one on MOT. Seems the OG used ones are about the same price.

That's a good deal I suppose. But I don't do cyclops and an orange Monster should be $100ish given how many must be out there.
