Longines help

Post by iwasbanned » December 29th 2021, 8:55am

Anyone point me in the right direction to learn a little about this watch? My main goal is to figure out if it's with servicing and then where. Simple movement? Vs. sending it to swatch.

Go to: www.longines.com/company/museum/longines-museum
Go to the 'contact' at the bottom of the page.

Take the back off and snap a shot of the movement and attach them to your email
as well as these photos shown here.

They have been extremely helpful to me in the past.
Good luck.

PS-It will have a quality movement, so any watchmaker in your area would be able to give it a good clean up. It would be worth it to me to spend the $100 or so to have it serviced.
(if you post a pic of the movement here I can look that up for you and give you an aprox. date range)

Just a guess, but the watch is from the early 50's. Found a very similar one listed as 1951, the image is from an old sales listing @ secondtimearoundwatchco.com in Beverly Hills. Bracelet looks just a bit different. There was also a similar image from an old chrono24 listing but the picture is very small.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'm gonna ship it to Swatch and see what they think.

I have an excellent watch maker here in Tulsa who would do the work for you if you feel more comfortable.
His name is Fred Espigare and his shop is Espigares Watches & Clocks. He is a master at his trade.

He would be a lot easier and less expensive to deal with compared to Swatch I expect.

Just an idea.
