Beautiful People Of Art Basel Miami & Watches

Post by koimaster » December 13th 2021, 4:09pm

What do Art Basel Miami and the dearly departed Baselworld have in common? Well, they both have Basel in their name and they're both owned by the Swiss company MCH Group, but beyond that, absolutely nothing. Except that watches play an outsized role in the overall conversation happening at each event. Even though the dominant conversation was around NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and modern art, you knew just by looking around the room that people were intentional with their watches, at the very least, if not full-on watch aficionados.

Many people live for this week-long celebration of art, and brands do, too. The watch industry powers Art Basel through key marketing partnerships. TAG Heuer threw a massive party and the likes of actress Madelyn Cline, and TV host Paulina Vega showed up. The young Frederic Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer, hosted a dinner when Jimmy Butler couldn't make it because of an injury. Hublot threw an absolute rager with all of their artist ambassadors attending, and athletes like Venus Williams, Usain Bolt, and Dustin Johnson were there.

It's certainly an affair to see and be seen, and that means all the showpiece watches come out. HODINKEE had photographer Ysa Pérez floating around to capture the stylish people of Art Basel, and these are some of the watches we spotted.

With the lilt of Irish laughter

Every day and in every way

Now forever and ever after."
