Is usps abnormally slow due to all the shit that has been going on and covid? I'm tracking an item received at the Kearny NJ postal depot and it hasn't moved since Jan 16. Status shows acceptance pending??
I can say that Canada post is unbelievably slow due to massive orders on line and the vid.

I ordered something from Oregon, to be sent to Germany. It took 5 days to get to SF and has been in transit since the 16th of December, for fucks sake. I think these guys throw such a shipments into a container, which is then sent around Cap Hoorn (where a dozen of them are lost in a storm). Not the first time that it takes more than 8 weeks anyways. But within the US...
"Acceptance pending" sounds more like it was not sent yet, only someone booked the shipping label online.

Shipped a watch to Canada from Florida on December 20th and it got there January 19th.

I notice long stops along the way are quite common for things sent and received today.

This is why I rarely sell to Canada but to be fair it was only first class.

USPS service in the Cleveland area is just as bad if not worse.

2 day priority mail can take 3-4 weeks

This is very inconsistent, indeed. Another company charged me 38,50 for Priority Mail International. It was sent from Colorado, on 21st of December, also going through SF. But then obviously by airmail (still it must have been a motor driven blimp rather than a modern jet. In between it said "Jamaica" and I though "Nooooo that can't be..." but that was Jamaica NY.):

In December, I wasted a stamp and sent a letter with a blank piece of paper inside it. Sent it on December 9.

I got it back late last week.

We obviously need to pour more money into USPS, that will fix things.......ask AMTRAC

I have one that’s been in NJ for a month - says “still on its way”. Shipper tells me 2-3 week delays are common right now.

Had a Wal-Mart package from a outside seller sit for three weeks about 90 miles from my house.

Oddly, every Amazon package vis USPS arrived on time.

We ought to unionize the USPS.

Odd that UPS and Fed-Ex continue to have very reasonable ship times.
Priority mail is a joke. I had an item I bought via e-Bay and the seller was 20 miles away. After the USPS received the package it took FOUR days to get to my address. I've actually gotten items from Communist China as fast as in-country USPS shipments.

I've never had a package just hung up like this. Wondering if it is in transit or like the notification says "acceptance pending" since Jan 16 and stuck in NJ Kearny postal depot.
After the parcel is shipped ,it's in mississauga likitysplit and processed . The hold up is usally in Canada.

Still says on the 1 of feb, acceptance pending since the 16 of jan....in NJ Kearny postal outlet...seller says not to worry...WTF.

It took 7 days for them to get a small package to it's destination, 12 miles away.

Got an email from B of A informing me that statements and other written correspondence from them 'may be significantly delayed'. Mail used to be delivered to my residence between 1 and 2 in the afternoon- lucky if it arrives by 6 PM these days.

Its the shits, Canada post has used all the excuses in the world to cover up inefficiencies. I watched a postie on overtime sunday pull up to a driveway and take 10 min to exit the truck with the parcel and deliver it. the guy was on the phone most of the time.

This is the 2nd of Feb...

At my place of business, my chronically inept boss orders two packages from an ink jet company - a small one and a large one. Took forever to get one small package, which arrived last week. Checking the tracking, it said both were left "on the porch" of a business that is inside a building. I get the impression we'll never see the large package - you know, the one we really need.

It's SO worth paying extra for UPS.

yup never again, made that decision a week ago. deal breaker will be the seller not being able to fedex a parcel.

I gotta say my experience has been pretty good with USPS., and I live in a minor regional centre a postal day (at least) away from Edmonton, which is the nearest place that can be reasonably thought of as an actual city.

Sometimes not fast, but--so far--never stoopid, and what's inside has always survived the handling decently ... *with no BS "brokerage" fees*.

Plainly, other's MMV.

I agree with you that usps has been not bad in my experience . It's usually canada border services that can be the hold up but I'm concerned that without scanning ,all I have is the possibility that the package is lost.... I'm going to give it more time a week or so than I'll start the process with paypal and the bay...

Oh yeah, forgot about this one. Probably Canada Border Services also. Get some of my meds from Canada and usually 2-3 weeks. Im OK with that but the last shipment only took 2 1/2 months!! Company made it up and shipped me more after about a month and I got that package before the original.

KEARNY, NJ 07099 this is the usps tracking info thus far as of Feb 6"....seller says covid the issue....20 years of various transaction over internet buying and never had issue with usps where item to me seems lost.
