Seiko from Canada

Post by iwasbanned » September 30th 2020, 11:05am

So I had this watch on pre-order from Canada. I'd been checking on it periodically and was excitedly expecting it to come in this month. Came in today.... and my order was cancelled. Dealer in Canada says he can't ship to the US. I went looking for it elsewhere, found it in Canada again, and they also told me they couldn't ship to the US. Can't figure out if this is a Seiko thing or a trade thing. Boooo.

Luckily I found it in Malaysia and should have it in a couple of weeks.

That's weird. I have recently purchased a Hammy from a jeweler in Canada via eBay. No problems.

I’m thinking I’m going to get this and the salmon dial. I’ll be very interested in your impressions of it.
they are hard to find. i haven't been able to find it in the US yet at any dealers. i considered getting both, but i've seen folks on facebook who got both and they seem to be favoring the blue.

Speaking of salmon dials, just ordered a Vario Ecliose Sundown Salmon dial with Miyota handwound 28,8 movement on Harris Tweed strap. For $263 I couldn't pass up giving it a go. (discount code: ECLIPSE20)

I just found a LNIB blue one and got it. I’m not sure when it will arrive, but I’m excited. Now to find a salmon one if I like the blue one.

I got mine from watches88. Looks like they've raised their prices by about $100 bucks. They have the salmon one. Congrats on getting the blue one.

I can get you those Seiko models (or any others) here in Canada. My best friend's store (where I used to work, now sometimes fill-in) is a Seiko dealer and has those in stock. The store cannot sell/ship into the USA according to dealership rules. But can sell to me. I'm willing to buy and then ship to a WL member as a private sale. Send me a PM for details. The dials on these are pretty stunning.

Got it. My pictures will never be as good as yours. Hope you don’t mind me posting mine up in your thread. I saw no reason to start a new thread with my crummy pictures. Just so happy with it I wanted to share.
