Swag-Fest 6! Affordable Twofers!!

Swag-Fest 6! Affordable Twofers!!

Postby conjurer » November 11th 2017, 3:42pm

OK, and we're back. I've decided to go back to the longer format auctions after hearing from you jamokes. These offerings will be lots of two watches each, affordables for beaters and suchlike. Here are the rules: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39797

Let's go!

Lot #1, Diverse Divers!:

Adee Kaye Chrono:

Alpha Sub Homage:

The AK is a quartz, and a biggun, too; 44mm across, 47mm with crown, 52mm lug-to-lug, 14.5mm thick. Integrated lugs so you can go stuff your NATO. Big, but surprisingly well balanced. Comes with extra links, the chrono movement appears to be a Miyota. Rotating bezel (or Bezzzsell, as Alon Nisimov would say.) Very pretty blue dial with Panda silver subs.

The Alpha is automatic, sized just like a Sub, 40mm across, 43mm with crown, 46mm lug-to-lug, 13.4mm thick, 20mm lug width. This one is two-tone, and comes with a couple extra links (screwed links!) and has some water resistance (3 ATM!). Please note that the crystal on this one appears to have some slight fogging. However, if you want to look like Smellody without the scratch, this one's for you!

Lot #2, Two SUGs!:

Diver:

Image

Image

Anadigi:

Image

Image

I kinda recall these things selling like hotcakes back on the old SAH network; the Diver is a big cased, helium release valve sporting monster, 46mm across, 49mm with crown, relatively short lug-to-lug of 45mm, 14mm thick. Lug width is 22mm, with partially hidden lugs. You need to know this because the OEM rubber strap is somewhat trashed (the tongue end broke off when I was unbuckling it to photograph it):

Image

Anyway, it's a pretty well made watch, with very good bezel action, a sapphire (!) crystal, Swiss quartz movement.

The anadigi is more wearable (41mm across, 44mm with crown, lug width is a miserly 16mm, mainly because the bracelet's somewhat integrated. No extra links are provided, and I can (just) wear it on my 6.75 inch wrist--it will not fit anything bigger. If you can get beyond this, it's an exceptionally cool watch--cool carbon-fiber (look?) dial, chronograph, 60 minute countdown timer, second time zone, world time.

Lot #3, Wing and Eyal!:

Android Quartz Diver:

Invicta Automatic Diver:

Image

Go big or go home, as the saying goes; with this pair, you'll be able to stay out all night. The Android is quartz, 45mm across, 50mm with crown, 50mm lug-to-lug, 22mm lug width, 15mm thick. It comes on an aftermarket rallye type rubber strap, also included is a bracelet, with Aragon branding. There appears to be some lint inside the crystal. Mineral crystal, rotating bezel. A great beat-around watch!

The Invicta is also 46mm across, 49mm with crown, 51.5mm lug-to-lug, 23mm lug width, 16mm thick. This one had some goofy name back when I recall seeing it on Shop, the "American" diver or something. It does have the very good Miyota 8215 movement inside, which handwinds but doesn't hack. 500m WR, too! Comes with extra links.

Please note that none of these watches come with boxes or papers. Because of this (and since this is, after all, Swag-Fest), for one lucky winner (to be drawn among the three winners of these lots) a special prize:

A beautiful 24-slot watchbox, with glass top and keys! Please note this will be sent directly to the winner by the generous donor, and will come separately.

OK, special rules time. These watches are to be sold as lots, and will not be broken up. This auction will run until Saturday, Nov. 18, ending precisely at 8:00PM Pacific time. When bidding, please refer to the lot number (1,2 or 3, I can't believe I have to state this, but what the fuck) in your bid. International buyers are welcome, but I won't ask the watchbox donor to foot the bill for international shipping, as this is a big ass box, and he's ponied up enough already.

Another special rule we're going to try is this one: If anybody snipes within the last minute of the auction, that lot (or lots) will remain on sale for another five minutes; any member can then snipe again on that lot (or lots) during that time, but only with an incremental bid of $5. If that bid is made, the auction will extend another five minutes, with the same rules. After two extensions, the high bidder will win, so I can close the auction and make a fucking drink.

Anyway, there you go! Bid early, and bid often! And don't forget, 75% of the proceeds go to help sick kids at St. Judes, and the rest keep the doors open here.

Enjoy!

Let's bump this
40 on 2
40 on 3

This is for sick kids........ Do you really think my forty is going to help?
F the watches, give me 70 on 2 and 70 on 3. Who's going to give me more for kids? It ain't about the watches.

Dude, 70 on 2 and 70 on 3. This about sick kids, who cares about sick kids? We will see. Snipers may get me, but not before a higher bid. I didn't realize a watch was a prize, I saw sick kids.

Kids right?
