Christopher Ward interview

Postby koimaster » May 6th 2015, 8:17am

So you guys and gals come up with a time, a format and I will get back to her. We could do it in a fashion similar to the one he had at the CW forum or the one at TZ years ago.

Hi Alain,

Hope you're well.

Apologies for the late reply on this - it's been pretty manic the last few weeks.

We handle the PR for Christopher Ward here at Kavanagh and would be delighted to set up a Q&A with Watchlords and Chris Ward! Great to hear you own a Trident too.

Could you confirm the logistics of of how the Q&A would work and when you would be looking to hold this?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and working together.

Very best,

Sara.

I would hope that some members could make time to ask questions when we do set this up. It is nice of Chris to take the time to do this with the hater forum.

Hi Alain,

Thanks for getting back to me.

All sounds great and Chris is more than happy to do the Q&A in real time - makes it a lot more authentic as you say and it's fantastic for him to speak to not only fans of the brand but general watch fanatics and even those that are skeptical about the brand. We always win them over ;-)

Happy for you to confirm logistics tomorrow and we can take it from there.

Have a lovely afternoon Alain and I look forward to discussing more tomorrow.

Best,

S.

Cool initiative, Alain. But I don't think Chr. wants to hear what I have to say about his brand and his watches!

There are plenty of CW fans on the other fora I frequent. When a time had been finalised I will advise them of the interview. Should be quite a prestigious event in the watch forum world.

Would love to hear from Christopher.

His Ask Me Anything on Reddit recently was pretty good.

While I'm not a big fan of CW, I have nothing against 'em, either. Fuck, it would be nice having somebody around here who knows a little about watches. Might class the joint up a bit.

Would love to pick his brain and I do love their watches.

Only thing is I can't commit to real-time with my schedule and the time difference between GMT and U.S. Times could be an issue.

Not sure if there are enough of us here to do real-time?

BDWF did something similar a few years back, via our chatroom. Worked out well that way.

well you guys come up with a game plan. If it could be done elsewhere it can be done here. If others from the other forums want to participate I have no problem with that. They would have to register but after that I could delete those accounts if so desired.

We could do a sign up or poll post for those who plan to attend. That post could also include member's questions they plan on asking or would like asked if they can't attend.

This will let us know how many will be there and give us some of the questions to avoid duplication and spark discussion.

Sounds like a working idea. If some cannot be here live I can pose questions on their behalf but I would like to see members ask their own questions. Not many forums get to do this.

ttt

Ok everyone, I will suggest the same format as this https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/commen ... _anything/

I have to confirm a time and date. Anyone who cannot be live can submit questions if this is the format we end up using.

Rusty once did this at WTW with a big wig at Hamilton a few years back. It was quite successful. If he's lurking  he might have a tip or two.

Well Kip from the CW forum who has just re-joined the forum will moderate at my request. So we are trying to set up a time and format. If you do not wish to take part that is fine but it is not often that a watch company owner will give an interview to a forum. Questions can be submitted to kip via PM or when we set up the final details in the next couple of days, member can take part. It might be in our chat room which is real time.

I spoke with Kip via phone earlier today in regards to this matter. I am thinking Thursday the 14th in the evening as Chr Ward is not available on weekends. Foghorn, Kip invited you to lunch on his dime.

An update on this interview - So, Questions needed if you cannot be there live and we will have this in the chat room if Kip wants it that way.

Hi Alain,

Hope you're well.

Chris has suggested Wednesday, 10th June to hold the Q&A.

In addition, he has mentioned that he'd prefer if he is asked more than 5 questions to give more people a chance to question him. Therefore we thought 10-15 questions would be a good number of questions to be asked...this would take up approximately 2 hours of his time.

Please let me know if this date and extra questions format works for you?

Very best,

S.

All I want to say about this: Even the concept is just great. Our membership will no doubt ask pertinent questions; getting the watch industry, any brands, involved with this site in an actual journalistic fashion will only cement this place's value.

GREAT idea. What an eye-opener.
