For my son's 18th birfday

Postby kevco » September 29th 2017, 7:41am

Got this for my son Andrew's upcoming 18th (10/10) birthday. I love him so much.

Great choice! Nice design, it will never go out of style.

My old man got me a brand new Omega Seamaster quartz, back when I gradjiated high scrool back in 1976, which I still have 41 years later. Sadly, I don't have Dad anymore, but I do have his Omega Seamaster de Ville auto day-date as part of my collection, and Dad is officially credited with getting me into this whole watch bidness thingy.

Best wishes to you and your boy; enjoy each other as much as you can, as it'll be those memories that will sustain him in years to come. Congrats on doing such a good job to date; no doubt it'll continue. What a great Elgin! (Pine for that, Piney! 8-) )

Lovely watch, and in a stunning condition.

I wonder if the case is steel, or is it chrome plated (that's likely indicated on the case back, only on the outer side of it - picture of which side of the back isn't here) - but if plated, then it looks like either it was worn quite rarely (and spent a long time in a drawer or whatnot), or the previous owner(s) took really good care of the watch.

Should anyone wonder about what the movement is (or just have a hard time identifying it), it's a French generic one by Jeambrun, calibre 26D:

Actually its probably his 10th (or so) watch. I got him started about 3 years ago. He takes very good care of his stuff. Also the back says stainless.
