Rare as Hen's Teeth QA

Postby tiktok » July 17th 2017, 7:55pm

In 1976 IWC produced one thousand pieces of the Ingenieur SL, one of Genta's masterpieces. From what I can gather they made more pieces until 1983 when the pure Genta design was changed. The 1976 version is the holy grail and one is available on Chrono24
mint with b/p.

I had been eying a Nautilus for sometime and content to hold off but this one is really toying with my mind. I could purchase it and not get a new mast and sails this fall and tell Ms.Tikker that vandals trashed the boat and then file a bogus claim. Damn I want it but it would only serve as bail money no doubt.

Day-um. If I could say the same, I'd buy two of 'em.

It's a fine looking watch, one which anybody would be proud to have in their collection.

If you can afford it, buy that sucker!

Chances are you wont run across another in this condition again. And if you do, the price will have gone up.

DO IT!

If I had the gelt, I would have already bought out from under you, tik...

There will always be Nautiluseses, know what I mean? Who knows when a minty, original edition Ingenieur might come along again with only a thousand out there.

I have a friend with the America's Cup- maybe I could get him to help you sew a couple'a sails yourself.

Looks entirely correct, and in genuinely fantastic condition. If it was me who would have such a choice, I'd choose that over the Nautilus any day.

I am still torn but if I buy this watch it will be a safe queen and I already have one safe queen so it would cut into my idea of having a 5-6 watch collection that I can wear on a daily basis. PP is built to spill.

I don't know...both watches are in another league..just know of too many horror stories of men nearing retirement age(or just beginning it) dealing w/ unfortunate circumstances..

Maybe an occasional drip, but never a spill.
