Hate to break it to you, but Unicorn and Marconi were the cheap end of the Rolex spectrum.
They were sold in Commonwealth countries in the main, and contained low to medium grade movements usually FHF and the like. Apart from the hermetic cased models, not very expensive.

If someone will drop hundreds on an empty box that says Rolex or thousands on a beat up bezel from an old Rolex then they’ll surely drop a dime on some old watch made for serfs and losers because of its connection to the brand of success and winning. Although collecting the cheaper options could actually make for an interesting collection in a horological sense.

This is definiately within the ballpark of perhapsability.
