Hey, here's a sharp looking Orient!

Hey, here's a sharp looking Orient!

Crisp, white dial with blue, Breguet-style hands. Black numerals reminiscent of some higher-end/mid-range Seikos. Crudely decorated, hackable, hand-wound mechanical Orient cal. 48C40 movement with power reserve indicator. Domed, sapphire crystal. 40mmx13mm polished case.

Just your every day Orient, not a Royal or a Star.

Found it here at LIW (https://www.longislandwatch.com/Orient_ ... 03003Y.HTM)

Pic of it on the wrist stolen from the interwebz.

Stolen pic of it sitting on some Russian book or something.

That's a funny looking hand crank movement. Unlike others I've seen. Usually the winding gears are visible. Like so

It's Orient's proprietary gear-less mechanical movement. Winding the crown wakes up three magical fairies, all of differing genders. When sprung into action, the fairies each begin to move a different hand. The power reserve hand is moved by the gravitational pull of the moon.

Not bad for the price.

Looks nice, I'm a sucker for blued hands on a white dial. Since it's a true mechanical the power reserve is nice but it would be nicer a little smaller.

That's purdy. I like it. It gives me a fairly decent boner.

As an aside, the chatter on the webz is that Orient has dropped the Royal line; I have no idea if this is true or not, since Orient has been something of a closed book in the WIS world.
