Hands-On: The Oris Big Crown 1917

Postby Racer-X » June 14th 2017, 4:12pm

by Stephen Pulvirent "When asked about what the biggest trends are from this year's Baselworld fair, I've basically been giving the same answer to everyone: all vintage everything. Basically any brand with heritage to draw from (and even some without) created old-school watches in smaller sizes and with period details to draw in the real fans. Oris went way back though, looking to its very first pilot's watch to inspire the Big Crown 1917."

I kinda like it except for the button to set the time. I realize it's a throwback feature but , to me , it's like Ford modifying a 2017 Mustang so it can be crank started.

It's nice, but Jaysus, look at the size!! It's gotta be, like, 97mm! It'll wear like the cross-section of a Saturn V booster stage!!
Johannes! My knees are trembling from banging her so hard with my rod!
