Thanks to Racer-X & John

Thanks to Racer-X & John

Postby koimaster » February 23rd 2017, 12:09pm

I wanted to thank Russ aka Racer-X for his post yesterday in the Citizen forum. It has been made a sticky and better yet, it is not in PDF format. I had noticed the recent posts Russ had made which were almost identical to the source page and was impressed with them. I normally copy and paste into a PDF format because quite honestly, Russ is a lot better at posting this stuff than I am.

I had asked Russ to try to bring that data in from the Citizen page and he was more than up for the task. I think we all owe him a pat on the back and a beer. :fdfd:

I appreciate it more than I can say. One of my reasons for having things like this done this way is to keep information like this from going away if the source site goes away.

I have a standing policy to import old forums or blogs into Watchlords to preserve the information for as long as we are around. Places like the deskdiver, horology guild, PMWF and other sites have gone away and the posts and information went away with them. That is a big loss for our hobby and I am pretty sure most of us would like to keep that stuff around somehow.

At any rate, my thanks again to Russ, he deserves a big thank you from all of us.

As to our resident joker and lover of all things Susan Boyle, thanks for doing the auctions, all of them over the years. It is time consuming and a pain in the ass to put them on and you have done a great job. So next time we get together I will spring for dinner and drinks. I will also call the police to let them know you had a few too many.

To Spanky, thanks for the donation and what happens in the policy room stays there as you said. I never let what we say there or elsewhere taint my rose tinted glasses.

:nxt:

To all of our members, thanks for making this place what it is, the best hater site on the interweb!

Very nice everyone! Koi, Racer, Conjurnerer, and even Spanky with all those outrageous world views.

I remember one time Racer helped me out with my Ruffles love.

WL is a good place.
