Hmmm...What happens if someone posts a political post in the wrong section? Should we rat them out to Koi or Noob? or just browbeat them?

I think we can have a good Fuck China thread without it getting too political.

Or what if a non-political thread turns political?

i.e. Hawk notes: woohoo! - central Florida - all economic indicators are up and gasoline is under 3.50.

Response A: It's in spite of Obama.
Response B: It's because of Obama.

Not my house, not my rules. But, quite honestly, I don't see this going well.

It's a perhaps a sad indictment on the world in which we live but what hasn't been politicized?

Hell, we can't even discuss the weather without risking a political AGW dust-up anymore.

And, for that matter, is global geo-politics to be verbotten? Were that the case even "fuck China" threads will be relegated to the sub-forum. Probably would have been easier to just say "no non-watch discussions and watch that China shit while you're at it.".

On the other paw, I'd probably be just as happy with the last observation - some of the "fuck China" threads here failed (quite literally) to meet posting guidelines at Stormfront.

A "fuck China" thread is, by its very nature, charged with geo-political goodness.
IP theft, a culture of copying, repressive .gov, you name it, it's political.

Then again, a thread regarding "Chinese women don't have to shave their legs" might not be political per se but we'll be accused of reverse discrimination which is political.

All good points Hawk. I, for one, will from now on only be posting in the political sub-forum. Just to be on the safe side.

I edited while you were posting - I hate it when that happens.

The b a t t l e zone might still survive. This move was probably done so that certain members whose obsessive, overbearing, insistent, agenda driven, insipid, repetetive, predictable, neverending,ad nauseum cut and paste excuses for real thought and opinions, can prattle on in a safe place where only those strong enough to witness his played to death schtick dare to go.

You can do as you wish but mods do have the ability to move threads if they wish to the proper forums. This sub-forum was created so that these discussions can go on without dominating the portal when people check in and not everyone wants to see political discussions as a regular diet. I thought long and hard about it and am using the Bear Pit and St. George model at TZ-UK ******** lives on, lot of topics from guns to flying saucers ( not the invicta types) can be battled out.

not an issue.

China is not the issue. The issue has become the outright partisan theads and I am guilty of that myself. By keeping the Obama did this, the GOP killed this in a sub-forum it works a little better for the Fuck china, slowpo and other threads which are not DIRECTLY started as a partisan thread. Saying that weather has been fucked by this or that is not an outright in your face "fuck this" like this one I started Mitt Romney and Bain Capital - I LIKE to FIRE people or this http://watchlords.forumotion.net/t16705-vet-the-prez-a-user-s-guide-to-smoking-pot-with-barack-obama .

IN a couple of weeks we will see how it works out, and if it does not it is east to merge forums.

Please add me to the nanny state.
